NFT Stealing & Shield Runes
Any non-legendary Mine NFT can be stolen from its holder. However, holders can end up making profit if the NFT is stolen from them or get almost fully compensated based on the amount spend to mint, steal or upgrade this NFT. Here is some important formulas that you need to know to understand how the stealing works:
The NFT Current price is the Mint price + Upgrade Price. If the NFT has not been upgraded then the Current Price = Mint Price. However if the NFT is upgraded a fixed price is added depending the Upgrade.
- Greater Ameliorate Rune Used (Greater Upgrade) --> 0.2 BNB (One time per NFT)
- Lesser Ameliorate Rune Used (Lesser Upgrade) --> 0.1 BNB (Two times per NFT)
- Road Sign Placed (Referral Tag Upgrade) --> 0.2 BNB (One time upgrade)
TIP: Initial steal price for free NFT mints is adjusted to the current price phase.
NOTE: We consider as Mint Price the Single NFT mint price of the corresponding mint phase at that time. Meaning that some NFTs will start with different steal prices.
After each steal action if the NFT is not stolen again by other thieves in a time period of 48 hours then the current price is automatically increased by 10% meaning that:
New Current Price = Previous Price + 10%. (Only happens once after each steal if 48 hours pass without the same NFT being stolen)
Steal price is the amount of BNB the thief has to pay in order to steal the NFT from the owner.
Steal Price = Current Price + 10%
Compensation is amount of BNB the previous owner will get after the NFT is stolen from them. (This amount is part of the steal price and not extra).
Compensation = Current Price + 5%.
There are 2 options while stealing an NFT from a user, steal without shield or steal with shield.
Stealing an NFT without Shield is the only way to make profit through stealing actions, but it is also involves risks. The next 48 Hours after an NFT is stolen is the key that will determine the price floor of the NFT and the compensation of the previous owner. As mentions above:
Steal Price = Current Price + 10%
If the NFT has not be stolen again by another thief in the first 48 hours, then the price will increase by 10% (Once after each steal).
New Current Price = Previous Price + 10%. (Price floor increased)
The next time a thief tries to steal that NFT, will have to pay:
Steal Price = new current price + 10%.
At this point the first thief compensation will be:
Compensation = New current price + 5%.
Same cycle will repeat for the second thief if 48 Hours has passed.
Current price of NFT is 1 BNB.
User 1 steals the NFT and pays: current price + 10% = 1.1 BNB.
After 48 Hours pass
New current price becomes: previous price +10% = 1 + 10% = 1.1 BNB.
User 2 steals the NFT and pays: new current price + 10% = 1.1 + 10% = 1.21 BNB.
User 1 compensation is: new current price +5% = 1.1 + 5% = 1.155 BNB, ending up with a 0.055 BNB Profit.
During this 48 Hours window the current price will remain same as before.
The next time a thief tries to steal that NFT before 48 hours pass, will have to pay:
Steal Price = Current Price (since price floor did not increase yet) + 10%.
At this point the first thief compensation will be:
Compensation = current price + 5%.
Same cycle will repeat for the second thief if 48 Hours has not passed.
Current price of NFT is 1 BNB.
User 1 steals the NFT and pays: current price + 10% = 1 + 10% = 1.1 BNB.
Before 48 Hours pass
Since price floor has not increased the current price is still same = 1 BNB
User 2 steals the NFT and pays: current price + 10% = 1 + 10% = 1.1 BNB.
User 1 compensation is: current price +5% = 1 + 5% = 1.05 BNB, ending up with a 0.05 BNB loss.
Since the 5% compensation is based on the current price at that moment, the profits will always be slightly higher than the looses that might occur during stealing before or after the 48 hours period. (Check examples to understand)
IMPORTANT: Users that steals NFTs without Shield, will not be able to use Shield Runes or buy Shield for the next 24 Hours, leaving the NFT vulnerable to other thieves.
After 24Hours, holders are able to buy Shield Runes directly from the NFT Card if they wish to protect their Mines and enjoy the benefits that each one has to offer or they can use Shield Runes from their Inventory.
Shield Time | Price* | Extend Threshold** |
---|---|---|
![]() | 2.5$ | 24 hours |
![]() | 10$ | 2 day |
![]() | 50$ | 1 week |
*Shield Runes can be bought with BNB equivalent to the fixed price in BUSD.
**You can extend the Shield only when specified amount of time left for your current shield. So you can use/buy a 2 day shield rune only if its remaining shield time is 24 hours or less, 1 week if remaining shield time is 2 days or less and 1 month if remaining time is 1 week or less.
Owners of NFTs with Shield fee discount Lesser Attribute will pay less for Shield Runes for the specific NFT that yields this Benefit.
Shield Runes that are bought directly from the NFT card are used instantly and does not appear as runes on the inventory. You can hold and trade Shield Runes only if you won them from Mythic Chests or airdrops.
BNB spend on Shield Runes are not compensated back to the user by any means. Shields only protects the NFT from thieves for certain amount of time and increases the Rate of Saronite Ore Farm by +1 per day that the NFT is shielded.
Stealing NFTs with Shield is a more secure way to acquire the NFTs but the compensation will be less that the actual steal price. The difference by stealing and shielding is that there is also a shield fee included in the price and the NFT will be protected for 48 Hours.
Shield Fee = Current Price * (6% - Market Discount) + Fixed Shield Price
Steal Price = Current Price + 10% + Shield Fee
Thieves that holds 2-Days Shield Runes on their inventory can use them while stealing with Shield instead of paying the Fixed Shield Price.
Since the NFT will be protected for 48 Hours, then the price will increase by 10%.
New Current Price = Previous Price + 10%. (Price floor increased, this time instantly since the NFT will be shielded for 48 Hours)
The next time a thief tries to steal that NFT without or with Shield will have to pay:
Steal Price = New Current Price + 10% OR
Steal Price = New Current Price + 10% + Shield Fee.
At this point the first thief compensation will be:
Compensation = New current price + 5%.
Lets assume at the time of steal 1 BNB = 250 BUSD,
That means 2 Days Shield = 0.01 BNB
Current price of NFT is 1 BNB.
User 1 steals the NFT with shield and pays: Current Price + 10% + Shield Fee.
Shield Fee = Current Price * 6% + Fixed Shield Fee = 1 * 6% + 0.01 = 0.07 ΒΝΒ.
Steal Price = Current Price + 10% + Shield Fee = 1 + 10% + 0.07 = 1.17 BNB.
Since the NFT will be shielded for 48 Hours the Price floor will increase so:
New Current Price = Previous Current Price + 10% = 1 +10% = 1.1 BNB
User 2 steals the NFT without or with shield. (Lets assume User 2 steals with shield)
Shield Fee = Current Price * 6% + Fixed Shield Fee = 1.1 * 6% + 0.01 = 0.076 ΒΝΒ.
Steal Price = Current Price + 10% + Shield Fee = 1.1 + 10% + 0.076 = 1.286 BNB.
User 1 compensation is: current price + 5% = 1.1 + 5% = 1.155 BNB, ending up with a 0.015 BNB loss.
